Today I turned 45. An auspicious day I suppose. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it one way or the other, but now that it’s here I don’t feel any differently. It’s just like any other day. It’s also a day that I’m firing on all cylinders creatively. I got a lot accomplished over the weekend, as can be witnessed by these covers. The one above is for the third novella in the Shadow Council Archives series from Falstaff Books. I need to go over the final edits this week, and then it’s off to layout. Just last week I turned in the fourth novella, The Map of Time.
I’m also working on getting updated covers for the shared world giant monster anthology series I co-created and edited with Jim Beard, Monster Earth. The revamped Kindle version is live now. The paperback should be updated by sometime today. The cover design and artwork is by the amazing Jeffrey Hayes of Plasmafire Graphics, who also did my covers for the novella series I’m working on called The Looking Glass trilogy. My plan is to get him to do a new cover for the sequel, Betrayal on Monster Earth, along with a long planned 4th volume and, if I can swing it, an ebook box set and print omnibus collecting all three. It’s going to be Monsterific!
I’m also writing a short story for an upcoming anthology that sounds like a lot of fun. I hope I get in.
That’s it for now. It’s certainly enough to keep me busy. Stay tuned!
